Google Glass attempt to incorporate a camera microphone internet connection

Project Glass is Google's attempt to incorporate a camera, a microphone real time internet connection, sat-nav, Android OS, and basically everything a computer can offer you (probably more, knowing Google) in a pair of spectacles.
They will sit a few inches away from your eye, and are 1.3 cm or half an inch large. Also, the RAM/Memory/Storage is rumored to be on par with that of the last generation Android phones.
Immediate Reactions
My immediate reaction upon reading about the project for the first time was:
"Computer in a pair of spectacles eh?Good luck with that!"
Astonishingly, Google have managed to complete this Project of theirs, and the Glasses are already available for $1,500 to I/O developers, and certain reports state that these miracle-glasses will be available to consumers within the U.S by early 2013.
Initially the Project was met with heavy skepticism from people, which according to me was thanks to the fact that they did not believe such a device could be perfected. Google's main stream of income is through advertising, and some went as far as to say that Google were going to use this as yet another medium for advertisements. Google have however stated that they are not going have advertising on the super-spects.
Wired spoke to Blair MacIntyre, director of the Augmented Environments Lab at Georgia Tech, who said "you could not do [augmented reality] with a display like this." MIT Media Lab researcher Pranav Mistry agreed, saying that "the small screen seen in the photos cannot give the experience the video is showing."
Why Google Will Do Better Than Apple
This again is a ginormous case of people underestimating Google.
I have said in the past, and firmly believe, that Google will be, and is Apple's main competitor.
In fact, I think Google has a higher potential than Apple.
Apple made iOS, the most advanced OS, Google made Android, the world's most popular OS.
Apple made Siri, Google made Google Search(Jelly Bean) which has been proved to have a faster reply time than Siri.
Google, in my opinion, will do better than Apple, as they can match up to Apple in the mobiles sector, two examples of such I just showed you above.
